We help Companies get funding
The Canadian Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program provides benefits in the form of cash refunds or tax credits to companies that perform eligible projects in Canada. Companies can be in various industries and do not need to be Canadian-owned or a dedicated research and development facility. Key to project eligibility is whether in the course of experiment, the company attempted to resolve a scientific knowledge gap or a technological uncertainty. We will help you make this determination.
SR&ED is a program administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Federal benefits are available as cash refunds or tax credits. Your company can receive a 15% tax credit on eligible expenditures; and certain Canadian private companies can receive a 35% cash refund. Additional benefits are available at the provincial level.
We apply our proven methodology to help you identify and claim eligible projects in science, engineering or Information Technology. Even if you have no eligible projects, we will help prepare you for a possible future claim. We: Provide training in the SR&ED program, benefits and policies | Identify and evaluate eligible projects | Prepare project descriptions and linked costs based on your company information | File the SR&ED claim following your review | Assist in reviews of your claim by CRA
We are research and development staff and public accounting professionals who have prepared over 1200 SR&ED claims in science, engineering and Information Technology. We have filed successful claims for private and public companies, and for Canadian-owned and foreign-owned companies. We were active members of the Ottawa and Toronto-West CRA SR&ED stakeholders' committees. Committee members collaborated with the CRA to monitor claimant issues and to clarify these issues in presentations to local claimants in the context of SR&ED eligibility and administrative policies.
Our technical team has several years of research and development experience in various industries and has prepared SR&ED claims since at least the early 2000s. We gained knowledge of best-in-class claim development processes through prior work at a large, international accounting firm. We have presented the SR&ED program, benefits and policies at Federated Press Toronto, University of Ottawa and various associations, banks and law firms. We have published in the PCMA Canada magazine. In addtion to SR&ED, we have successfully filed claims for other Canadian innovation funding programs and for the U.S. R&D tax credit program.
Our financial team has the gold standard CPA designation and several years of public accounting experience in corporate taxation and in filing successful SR&ED claims.
